Planning, monitoring and applying shift breaks to your timesheets is easy with Urhere.

Choosing the right break scenario for your business #
Different industries and businesses will have different requirements for breaks. There are four common scenarios when using breaks in Urhere.
- Assigning the number of Paid or Unpaid Break Minutes to the Shift
- This will automatically deduct break time from the timesheet
- Scheduling breaks with a start and finish time that attribute to the total break minutes for the shift
- You can use these as a record for breaks taken or;
- Allow employee start and end breaks based on the times scheduled
- Scheduling breaks with a start and finish time that don’t attribute to the total break minutes for the shift
- Useful for maintaining a record of breaks taken, that won’t require timesheet / break reconciliation
- You can use these as a record for breaks taken or;
- Allow employee start and end breaks based on the times scheduled
- Allowing employees to start and finish unscheduled breaks as required
You can use a combination of these break scenarios across your roster.
Using Paid Break & Unpaid break minutes only #
Setting the total number of break minutes via the Paid & Unpaid minutes box, is an easy way to deduct break times from the shift without the complication of reconciling break times.
The number of unpaid minutes set automatically deducted from the overall shift time.
For example:
A 9:00am to 5:00pm shift with a 30 minute unpaid break will automatically deducted from the scheduled and the actual start and finish times of the shift.
Using the “Use Timed Breaks to Calculate Total Break Minutes” Option #
This option will calculate the total break minutes of the using the scheduled break times (when the shift is rostered) and use the actual break times once the shift has been completed.
As shown below, the 30 minute & 15 minute Unpaid Meal Break break is setting the total Meal Break (Unpaid) minutes.
